Kongreate Arcade Review (Android Apps) - Technology - Communication

There, I stated it, candidly for the entire Internet to see. I. Am. A. Big. Kid.

Logically, the first thing I execute as soon as I get a phone is to see what games are on it and what games I can acquire for it. About a year ago, I inadvertently discovered an astounding Flash games site called Kongregate. The games were ALL without charge and they had a ton of games I loved the initial time I played them. Fast forward a year to today and Im still an passionate addict. Kongregate became so popular that they were actually acquired in the summer of 2010 by GameStop as a way for them to get into online gaming.

Then the next immense kick ass thing happened.

They released an Android App. And got it right. I resisted the alluring pull it had on my hand each time I turned on my cell phone. I resisted until a few days ago at what time I had a second of frailty and I downloaded the app and my first two games, Free Of Charge, which is the way I roll.

3 days later, Im still playing a game called Zilch, which could very well be the second-most addicting game I have ever downloaded on my HTC Incredible. (The original was Angry Birds, naturally!) In the same way as the normal Kongregate site, the games are hit-or-miss. Zilch is wonderfully done as are a a small number of of the other games that released cellular phone versions. Several of them still need improvement; but, thats no different from their online site. As the app and the games are roughly all at no cost you have persons of all knowledge levels trying to develop games, often with surprisingly high-quality results. Ive played a lot of games at the site that are equal with releases from major studios from back in the day.

All in all, this app is definitely worth checking out. (Just do not download Zilch unless you have 2-3 days to kill!)
